There are so many opportunities in the film industry.

I am learning that there are so many opportunities out there for independent film makers! A person just has to be willing to search them out. And if you want to produce your own film, you have to be willing to put in the time, the effort, the talent that you have and all the money you can invest. Fulfilling a dream is always worth it!

Freelance writers have an edge in this business because writers are needed in all fields in the entertainment and literary industry. There are opportunities for freelance writers with major magazines both online and in print. Writers have opportunities in the film industry as the story writers, the editors, screen play writers, script writers and more. I'm not well enough versed in film making to uncover all the possibilities. That is one area where my research will be focused in the coming months.

As for me, I'm interested in novel writing, poetry and prose, in self-publishing and in submitting my synopsis ideas to film makers both major and independent. Take a chance. Put your effort in the direction where you would like to see your career go and watch the magic happen.

Planning a Film Production consulation in Utah

This is really exciting news for Cephas and me. Yesterday, we made some connections through the social media facebook. Through those connections, conversations happened that opened some doors to bring us even closer to making our movie dream come true. We have an open ended appointment in May to discuss projects for film production with a movie production company in Utah.

This is really exciting to us! Our work and dreams are coming closer to being a reality. Now I have to write more hours every day in order to have some completed works to show the company's owner. I will not name them yet until we have a solid commitment. Afterwards, you can expect some good press about this independent film company from me. They are willing to take a chance on a newbie in the business. That's kudos to them and good for us.

Stay tuned as this stage in our project and book development unfolds. I'll post any time we have further news.

Writing Feverishly as I plan meetings with Potential Producers

Each day that I write more of one of my books or short stories, I get more excited. I feel the anticipation for my books to be published and for my writing to be recognized as notable. I was born with a gift so I'm not bragging about having any special talents. All my talents are gifts from God. I can only hope and pray that I will use them in a way that will uplift and inspire others. Right now, I have several big irons in my fire. That keeps me focused because I thrive on multi-tasking.

Here is the latest business news regarding my personal writing projects and possible screenplays. Last night, I developed two new characters for the novel, "On the Wings of Zion". I wrote a post on The Midnight Writer where you can read all about James and Claudia, two quantum physics scientists in the story. I am introducing the technical side of this mission with these two characters. There will be an entire crew to join them but James and Claudia play significant roles.

I'm finding that my central plot is really broad and deep so I have to narrow it down. Once I hone in on the main theme the central plot will develop. Then it will be easier for me to cut out sections of the story that seem too verbose. I realize that the character development is very important at the same time that I am fine tuning the central plot. The characters have to fit into the story and have room to interact and blossom. Dialogue isn't crucial at this point but it helps me to insert some as the inspiration strikes because I use the dialogue as a focal point for story development.

As always, with any written work, this is all subject to editing until the ink from the final draft dries on the printout!

I haven't even thought about scene or location development yet or setting. I'm keeping my focus on the plot and the character development. It is easy for me to jump all over the map then my story gets too spread out. Editing and cutting is no fun for me because I don't like the "delete" button.

As you can see, I have my work cut out for me over the next few months. In May, we are taking a trip to Utah to sit down with a movie producer. I was invited to discuss our projects and theirs. Who knows, we might be able to strike up a mutual working relationship. The owner of the company is a photographer so I can probably get a nice head shot done for Mountain Spirit Productions. Cephas and I both need one. We also have a music recording that we are hoping to produce into a video. This is possible in the same visit. Then there is the promo short film. I need to write this before May so we can talk about filming it.

Busy times. Fun times.  Travel along with us as our company grows and until our work finally meets the public audience.

Setting up Advertising is a Complex Process

Tonight, I am muddling through many pages of data and blog content information to install Adsense on my blogs. I need the revenue to support our ministry travels. Since I'm writing any way, I thought I might as well set up the ads to earn a few extra dollars. It is an expensive occupation traveling as a not for profit evangelical organization. Cephas and I have been finding different ways to help fund our heartfelt work of sharing the good news about God, about healing, love, peace and light.

Due to the complexity of detail and the time involved per blog, this venture of setting up advertising will take me a couple months. I'll let you know how it works out. Once I figure out all the nuances of the advertising business, I'll tell you all about it. Maybe it will help you in your business. It couldn't hurt to make a few extra dollars either way. Back to setting up accounts..

Our Ministry and Business are picking up summertime momentum

From the writing to the scheduling to the traveling, our life is getting very busy this spring season. There are lots of new adventures on our horizon this year and I am so excited to share them on our Mountain Spirit blog. Our website is a collage of sorts that encompasses our business that includes freelance writing, our business ventures as independent contractors and our Ministry as Angels of The Light. The entire purpose for all that we do is to serve as evangelists in glorifying our Father in Heaven through our Savior Jesus, the Christ. The reason we make money at all is to use as a means to service this calling. It is not for personal gain for our lives are the ministry. We share the good news about the love of Christ in our life and how His Spirit has unveiled the mysteries of the Kingdom of God. Our testimony is that by embracing the holy spirit of God, we have seen miracles unleashed in our lives and in the lives of those to whom God sends us.

Currently, we are traveling throughout California on several missions. Our Mom has taken ill recently, so we want to visit her soon before our summer travels carry us far away from California. On the way, we will stop to see a few old friends. Our son is coming from Tennessee to meet with us and to travel for a while with us. That is exciting to us. We have been planning some stops during our ministry and work travels for the summer that will carry us all around this beautiful country from California to Pennsylvania. During this time, I am working hard on resurrecting my blogging business as a freelance writer. Meanwhile, my book manuscript grows closer every day to completion. I write  a few words or pages when the opportunity arises. You can read previews to my book On the Wings of Zion on the website that we developed for it or on the facebook page. Follow along with this exciting work as we venture around the nation this summer witnessing about the miracles of God in our lives.
